How Intermittent Fasting Can Help You Feel Better

I grew up as an athlete, a professional dancer, and a twin. So there were ALWAYS comparisons about my physical weight, my posture, my body structure by others and of course by me.

I tormented myself because I could never measure up to everyone else’s ideal of what I should look like. Oh, those six foot Vogue models were everywhere!

Then as a young adult, the other professional dancers and I had to weigh ourselves every week and I was the one who had her pay docked for every pound over the show’s set weight limit (I weighed 119#’s and was all muscle! . . . and NOT six foot tall).

I had a mental breakdown and then I couldn’t stop eating . . . and jumped into every fad diet under the sun!

 

Later in life, as a nurse, I specialized in type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, and metabolic weight loss. And I saw way too many failed diets to count! That was me, too!

Yes, overeating is a big factor, but control over food is soooo much more than just how much you eat. NOT eating is just as important and can be done on any type of meal plan when you do eat. This is the cheapest (and healthiest) way to feel your best.

I whittled down all the science and tactical tools of fasting to make it easy for you and me to do and to help relieve the emotional torment we go through when it comes time to eat.

What to Do with Your Time While Fasting

* My family and I enjoy visiting open houses in our area. Yeah, I know, weird, but we love to dream!
* Getting a good walk or cuddle time in with our puppies is a must.
* A good downward dog yoga pose keeps me in shape.
* Riding my bike up in the Rocky Mountains is a great way to step away from food temptations.
* I also own and operate Mile Hydrate Mobile Wellness and Esthetics; a company where I love my face-to-face time with people practicing self-care. My fasting is easier when I focus on others.
